Buchmesse (Book Fair)

In was near Frankfurt where Johannes von Gutenberg revolutionized book printing. Now, 500 years later, around 280,000 authors, agents, librarians, film producers, artists and literature fans meet at the world’s largest book fair every year in October. Business here no longer involves only printed matter, but also rights, licenses and electronic media. The fair dates back to the 15th century. It’s a good idea to book your hotel room far in advance of this annual event (usually in early October), when the city’s lodgings are filled to capacity. The public is allowed to attend the book fair on the last few days.
