Dippesmess – Easter and September
The Dippemess is a colorful folk festival for the whole family with a long history. Known in the region as the largest and oldest Frankfurt folk festival. The Dippemess takes place twice a year - once as a spring Dippemess around Easter for about three weeks and once for about a week as an autumn Dippemess at the beginning of September. On the fairground on Ratsweg in front of the ice rink.
Wäldchestag - June
The Tuesday after Whitsun is called Wäldchestag in Frankfurt am Main and then a large traditional folk festival takes place at the Oberforsthaus in Frankfurt's city forest. This day has been called the national holiday of the Main metropolis for centuries. Wäldchestag stands for identification and solidarity of the citizens with their city.
Opernplatzfest – June/July
The Opernplatzfest is a tribute to one of Frankfurt's most beautiful squares. Urbanity and pure joie de vivre characterize the urban space. A cultural festival with live music, walk acts and piano concerts embedded in a first-class gastronomic offer. The culinary offer offers the highest quality and sets new gastronomic accents every year in the combination of tradition and trend.
Mainfest - August
The Mainfest at the Mainkai, Fahrtor and Römerberg is one of the oldest popular festivals in Frankfurt. Today, the Mainfest with its large summer gardens on the banks of the Main is a great way to experience the river and its banks. The "Fischerstechen" also takes place again and the Mainfest opens with wine from the fountain of justice and ends with a superlative fireworks display.
Frankfurter Apfelweinfestival – August
The Apple Wine Festival has already become a tradition in Frankfurt am Main. At the summertime Frankfurt Roßmarkt, everything revolves around the Hessian national drink and what can be made from it. In Hesse, apple wine, also known as "Ebbelwoi," has been a popular beverage for centuries. Many drink it straight, but it is also very popular when mixed with mineral water or lemonade. Together with the wine press houses, a varied stage program is put together with lots of live music.
Museumsuferfest – August
Art, culture and music merge for three days into a large and spectacular festival. With extraordinary program offerings from Frankfurt's museums, numerous stage productions and stagings, the Museumsuferfest is one of Europe's largest cultural festivals. The finale is a gigantic musical fireworks display.
Rheingauer Weinmarkt – September
Every year in late summer, the traditional Rheingau wine market with exclusively Rheingau wineries takes place in the heart of the city of Frankfurt am Main on Frankfurt's promenade "Freßgass". The offer of the winegrowers complemented by culinary delicacies, especially from the direct gastronomic Freßgass residents.
Jazz zum Dritten – October 3rd
For many years, Frankfurt has celebrated the Day of German Unity with a citizens' festival. "Jazz zum Dritten" (Jazz on the third) offers the finest jazz free of charge on the Römerberg.
Advent – November/December
The four weeks before Christmas are the time for the traditional Christmas markets, and baking Plätzchen (the traditional Christmas cookies).
